Built at the Turn-of-the-Century, Cedar Hill Bed and Breakfast was originally the residence of the Trojanavich family who owned the local lumber yard. The business thrived with all the acitivity of the mines, and the family raised twelve children in the home. Changing hands several times over the course of its 105 year history, it has been both private residence, commercial apartments...and antique store.
But in 1992, the home was purchased by Helen Gross, who found in the Globe-Miami area, a community reminecent of her small-town days in Kansas. She soon moved her life, and her house full of mid-west antiques into the large rambling home and went about converting the residence to a Bed and Breakfast.
Today, there are 3 private rooms on the main floor, and 2 furnished apartments on the street level (seen here). A laundry room is located on the street level and is available for those staying at the house.
Parking is on the street in front of the house. Apartments have their separate entrance through a gated patio on the west side of the house.
The home has a large front porch overlooking the downtown area and a bricked patio in the back with outdoor grill. Mature landscaping and garden beds with iris, lavendar, hollyhocks and vegetables dot the grounds, making the house an ideal gathering place for friends, family and travelers.
The home is wheelchair accessible on the Main Floor, with a ramp just off the front porch (to the East), and large hallways and a bathroom which accomodates a wheelchair, along with a walk-in shower.
Located just one block east of Globe’s Historic Downtown District, the home is within walking distance
to many shops, restuarants, banks, Downtown events.
